Name: Wanda Maximoff Door: door pass (submissive) Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe Canon Point: Avengers: End Game, post movie Age: mid 20s Appearance: link History: link Personality: ◾ RESILIENT: Wanda has come to face a lot of overwhelming experiences in her lifetime, but she has shown to always be very capable of withstanding traumatic moments and pulling herself back together. At a mere ten years old, she lost her parents when their home was struck by a Stark Industries bomb and spent the next two days hiding beneath a bed with her brother, expecting the bomb to go off at any moment, but for the next decade, grew to be more hardy, rebelling against the constant attacks and oppression on Sokovia. Eventually, she also came to lose her brother, her country, and years later, the love of her life, but after all of these experiences, Wanda continued to strive to become stronger, always fighting back and trying to live despite all that she's lost. ◾ TIMID: Though she has been shown to push through some fairly tough circumstances, there's no denying that at times, Wanda's confidence can be shaken to where she ultimately ends up quite unassertive. This comes from a tendency to be quite dependent on others, beginning with her very attached relationship with her brother, Pietro. During the battle of Sokovia, while she is separated from him, she begins to have doubt in herself, panicking over the attacks, and becoming easily overwhelmed with the battle, until Clint provides her with a pep talk that allows her to regain her confidence. Later, after Pietro's death, there a moment in which she is prepared to give up on her life before she is ultimately rescued by Vision. Additionally, when blame is being placed upon her after she'd caused the indirect deaths in Lagos, she begins to shut down emotionally, losing the willingness to defend herself. ◾ CULPABLE: Ultimately, Wanda most often tends to put much of the blame on herself. When the attacks begin on Sokovia and the Avengers are made to fight against Ultron's army, she breaks down in the midst of the battle to voice how she'd done all of it, knowing that she had been responsible for making Ultron stronger to begin with. At the battle's end, her brother has died and a large portion of her country has been destroyed, shaking her enough to the point that she was willing to let herself die for the losses she had caused, albeit indirectly. Wanda constantly tends to put a highlight on her faults, and when most of the world goes against her during the signing of the Sokovia Accords, she accepts the blame for constantly messing things up, momentarily denying Clint's rescue because she thinks she deserves the imprisonment. It is part in why she eventually begins to prefer a quieter life with Vision, because it keeps her away from the front lines where she has caused damage again and again, and would rather step aside than partake in more fighting that will result in more loss. ◾ UNFORGIVING: Even when she finds plenty of guilt within herself, neither does Wanda hesitate to place the blame on others. As a child, upon seeing that Stark Industries was the creator of the bomb that killed her parents and destroyed her home, she and her brother spent the next decade holding on to their hatred towards Tony Stark, to the point that they were willing to volunteer in experiments with Hydra scientists in order to obtain power strong enough to be capable of fighting him and the Avengers. Eventually, when Ultron kills Pietro, she takes the core piece from his chest and instantly shatters it without hesitation and with the full intention of killing of him. The biggest example of her vengeful nature is when she confronts Thanos, after he'd killed Vision and ultimately killed her and half of the world, she strikes back with all that she has, using her magic to almost tears him completely apart, proclaiming that he had taken everything from her. Powers and Abilities: Wanda was born a regular human, but she and her brother were eventually recruited by a Hydra scientist named List, who promised a way to help them get stronger to fight against war and riots in Sokovia. The experiments conducted had killed every previous volunteer, but succeeded in awakening different abilities within both Wanda and Pietro. ◾ TELEKINESIS: Wanda can mentally move and manipulate objects, doing so with her thoughts and careful movement of her hands. With this, she can also control molecules, pushing them together or apart, which in turn allows her to manipulate shapes or destroy them. In addition making objects float, she is also able to make herself and others levitate. ( visual samples: 1, 2, 3, 4 ) ◾ TELEPATHY: Wanda can mentally read the thoughts and memories of others. In doing this, she can sense their emotions and feelings as well, using this to her advantage to plan strategy, such as when she sensed Tony Stark's fear of strong future intergalactic invasions, easily predicting his use of Loki's scepter for his own means. The power of the emotions can also have a physical effect on Wanda, as she felt a stinging pain in her head, upon sensing Ultron's desire of a destructed world. There is no known limited range for this power though it can extend far, as she was able to sense her brother's death even when they were in opposite sides of the city. (visual samples: 1, 2 ) ◾ MENTAL MANIPULATION: Wanda is able to form illusions and warp visual realities to put others in a hypnotic state. She can force them to see dreamlike visions that are often times a distorted product of their memories and emotions. Wanda was able to perform this on almost all of the Avengers, even Bruce Banner, forcing him to go into an uncontrolled rampage as the Hulk. She is also capable of mind control, using this ability to convince the people of Sokovia to evacuate the city. ( visual samples: 1, 2, 3 ) ◾ PSIONIC ENERGY: Wanda's most offensive approach in battles is the ability to create physical waves and bolts of energy in the form of red flickers of light that have destructive and forceful capabilities. She has used this to push away enemies and cause explosions, the latter of which has been capable of destroying vibranium-armored robots. When her emotions are most heightened, such as when she was grieving the death of her brother, the destructive power of her blasts can become even stronger. She can also use this ability to create defensive force fields. ( visual samples: 1, 2, 3, 4 ) Inventory: ◾ family photo ◾ guitar Samples: tdm starter + one, two, three |
